Breathwork and Sound Bath - Zach and Emile January 27, 12:30-2:30 at Yoga Society of San Francisco

On the afternoon of Saturday, January 27th, Zach Evans – musician, bodyworker and international facilitator of Activate Breathwork and Emile Janse – practitioner of sound healing via various instruments, vocal toning and throat singing– will be leading an immersive experience through the transformational power of the breath and sound healing at Yoga Society of San Francisco in San Francisco, CA.

Through this experiential workshop, participants will experience the activation of the breath through a blending of ancient and modern techniques for releasing restrictions in the breathing pattern. Zach will draw from his experience as a bodyworker to speak on the various holding patterns experienced by most people in the modern world and he will facilitate a practice designed to transform these restrictions into a deeply full, unbounded breath. This results in allowing free-flowing life force to pulse through the body. Participants will then have the opportunity to explore heightened states of consciousness through this activated breath.

As the breath begins to activate, Emile will facilitate a journey through sound healing – immersing participants in the sacred sounds of the didgeridoo, flute, handpan (Hang), singing bowls, and overtone throatsinging. Sound-worlds of peace, joy, bliss, and healing will be experienced and shared.

Throughout the sound healing experience, Zach will work closely with each participant – providing gentle bodywork to assist in the opening of a breath that allows the free flow of life force within.

Benefits of this work include (but are not limited to):

– The release of deeply stored tension in the physical body
– Euphoric, blissful states – often providing creative inspiration
– Freedom from limiting beliefs and emotional obstructions
– Calming and reintegrating the central nervous system
– Profound relaxation and clarity of mind

Zach, based in Asheville, NC, is the only trained facilitator of Activate Breathwork in the United States, advanced practitioner of bodywork (CranioSacral Therapy, SomatoEmotional Release, Total Body Balancing and more) and has studied internationally with master teachers including Roy Eugene Davis (direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda), Dr. Kerry D’Ambrogio (creator of Total Body Balancing), various faculty of the Upledger Institute, and acclaimed author, Suzanne Scurlock-Durana (Full Body Presence and Reclaiming Your Body.) His journey of teaching techniques for self-healing began while he was living in Northeast India studying yoga and Ayurveda, which led him to train in Dubai with the founders of Activate Breathwork, Martin McNicholl and Elisangela Paes. He brings an enthusiastic sensitivity and dedication to his work, inspiring and empowering people to access their innate potential for self-healing through the breath, sound, and intuitive movement.
