(Although winter is the season of dormancy, darkness, and coldness, the December Solstice marks the “turning of the Sun” and the days slowly get longer. Celebrations of the lighter days to come and nature’s continuing cycle have been common throughout cultures and history with feasts, festivals, and holidays around the December Solstice.
This year Winter Solstice in the Northern hemisphere is on December 21, 2022, at 1:48 P.M. PST)

What is Yoga Nidra?

It is a practice that includes complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. The technique of Yoga Nidra can enable one to be conscious in this state and nurture the seed of great willpower, higher self, and vitality.

With each session of Yoga Nidra, One will be burning their old habits and tendencies in order to be born anew. During each practice, the practitioner will make Sankalpa, -a resolve, a suggestion for where they will plant the seeds of positive change. Right between the state of wakefulness and dream, it is the most powerful method for reshaping one’s personality.
Even though the practitioners are lying down during this practice, they are not actively doing anything. The teacher will guide them through the process with the help of conscious relaxation to take them into deep Sleep like state.

The technique of Yoga Nidra allows the body to relax deeply while the mind is still awake. During this time, the brain waves move from the active – beta waves, pass through relaxed – alpha waves, and eventually enter the frequency of deep sleep–delta waves. This state allows one to access the subconscious mind, suppressed memories, and experiences.
