Devi Navaratri is a festival to worship the Divine Mother or Shakti. It takes place at the beginning of Spring and the beginning of Autumn. These two periods are seen as sacred opportunities to worship the Divine Mother. The word Navaratri means nine nights in Sanskrit and during these nine nights, nine forms of Divine Mother are worshipped. Devi Navaratri is divided into sets of three days to adore three different aspects of the supreme goddess or goddesses.
