Yoga for Low Back Pain Workshop w/Shane

Low Back Pain is one of the most common reasons for missed days of work. Nearly 70 percent of the population suffers low back pain at some point in their life. Shane hurt his back working construction in NYC in 1999. Yoga was very helpful for him to heal his lower back pain. 

In this two-hour workshop, we will explore traditional postures in the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition that work to bring flexibility and strengthen the lower back. We will also explore postures separate from the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition useful to bring gentle movement to the back and help make the back strong. 

In the workshop there will be given useful tips and subtleties that you can use to help deepen your yoga practice, aiming to be a catalyst for inspiration. This workshop aims to be a holistic approach to yoga in the treatment & prevention of low back pain.

Shane has been on the yoga path since 1998. He started a daily practice in Los Angeles, CA in 2003. He has been teaching yoga since 2004. He lived over three years in India. He has studied extensively with master teachers in India and North America.
